• "232 Confidence NFL Pickem” is a weekly competition for 17 weeks of the NFL season.
• The Season Starts with the 1st NFL Game of the season and with the last NFL Game of the regular season.
• This is a Confidence Style Pick'em pool where your standings are based on  "Confidence" points.
• You pick all the games and rank them starting at 1 (your lowest rank - team your least confident about winning) to 16 (your highest rank - team you are most confident about winning) and get the confidence value in points for each game you correctly predict (No Point Spreads).
  • BYE WEEKS - during bye weeks you will rank from 5-16
• The top 3-5 player(s) each week will win a cash prize, and at year's end, the top 1-3 players in the overall standings will win a cash prize as well. Payout TBD based on # of entries.
• Expected 60 entries for 2010

HOW DO I JOIN:

• Click here to join. If you have not registered before with www.officefootballpools.com then you will be asked to register. If you have already registered, just login.
• The pool begins with the 1st NFL Game of the season, and ends with the last game of the regular season.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST:

• The pool entry fee is $5 per entry/per week or $85 for the season per entry. Multiple entries per person ARE allowed.
  • Must pay for a minimum of 4 weeks ($20) at a time.

WHAT ARE THE DEADLINES:

• You can enter all 17 weeks or just a few weeks during the season (minimum of 4 is required). Its your choice.
• The deadline to submit your picks is up until 15 minutes before kickoff of the 1st game of the week.
• Members picks will not be displayed to other members until kickoff of that game.
• Failure to send your entry fee on time will result in your entry being disqualified for that week.
• If you enter and pay on time, but fail to submit your picks on time, you will receive Default Picks for the week. Default Picks will be all of the HOME teams, and a '0' for the tiebreaker prediction.
  • DEFAULT PICKS will make you ineligilb for the weekly prize, but your points will still count towards the the season prize.
• It is YOUR responsibility to make the deadline each week, but email reminders to make your picks will go out during the week.

 SUBMIT PICKS

1. To begin, navigate to the pool page at www.officefootballpool.com and select the "232 Confidence NFL Pickem" contest from the left side of the menu.
2. Once there, click on Picks at the top of the page to access the pick sheet, and now you can submit your picks for the week.
3. You will pick the winner of each of the 16 games that week, straight up (with no point spreads).
4. You will then rank your winners from 16 (Highest) to 1 (Lowest), based on the level of confidence you have in your choices.
   1. 20 is the team you have the most confidence in and 1 is the team you have the least confidence in to win their game.
5. Finally, you will make your tiebreaker predictions.
   1. Each week, the last Monday Night Game will be the "Tie-Breaker" game.
   2. For this game, you want to predict the winner, as well as how many total points will be scored.
6. Make sure you hit "SUBMIT" to submit your picks.

• The contest standings is based on Points. 
• So the top 3-5 players each week will win a cash prize (TBD). Please see the section "How Much Will I win".
• The top 1-3 top players at the end of the season will win a cash Prize (TBD). Please see the section "How Much Will I win".

 Confidence Scoring System:

• If a team that you predicted to win LOSES, you receive 0 points, regardless of how you ranked the team.
• If that team WINS, however, you receive points equal to the confidence ranking you chose for that team.
• For example, let's say you pick Detroit Lions to defeat New Orleans Saints, and you feel quite confident, so you rank Detroit 15. 
  • If Detroit looses, you were wrong, so you receive 0 points...
  • but if Detroit wins the game, you were correct, and with a confidence ranking of 15, you will receive 15 points!

SEASON STANDINGS:

• Each week, the points are reset to 0 in the weekly competition.  
• However, total points are tracked for the Season Winners, and at the end of the regular season, the top 3-5 players overall will receive cash year-end prizes!

• In an effor to keep players playing all season long, and to increase the # of people that win money, I have decide to apply more money to the weekly prize ($4.25 per entry) and ($.75 per entry) to the season prize.
• OFFICIAL prizes TBD based on total # of paid entries.
• The "ESTIMATED" Payout for 2010 is as follows and based on 60 paid entries:
• Weekly Payout:  
  • 1st:  $165
  • 2nd: $80
  • 3rd: $25
• Season Payout:
  • 1st: $545
  • 2nd: $135

• Running Office Pools takes a lot of time & a little money, so a small portion (10% of prize money) will be used to offset my expenses & time and an additional $60 will be taken to pay officefootballpool.com for this pool.
• Expense of running a pool include, but are not limited to:
  • Domain registration, Hosting fee, PayPal, Banking fees, pool software, web design software, postage, and other miscellaneous expenses.

WEEKLY TIEBREAKERS:

The Weekly Standings in this pool are based on 'Points'. The person with the most points is ranked highest.

1. The first tiebreaker is 'Wins'. The person with the most wins is ranked highest.
2. The next tiebreaker is 'MNF Pick'. A winning pick on the MNF game wins this tiebreaker.
3. The next tiebreaker is 'Tie Game Points'.
   1. The person who most closely picks the total combined score by both teams in the designated tiebreaker game is ranked highest.
   2. Going over or under does not matter.
4. If there is a tie after 'Tie Game Points', it will be considered a tie.   Prizes will be evenly split.

SEASON TIEBREAKERS:

•  The Season Standings in this pool are based on 'Points'. The person with the most points is ranked highest.

1. The first tiebreaker is 'Wins'. The person with the most wins is ranked highest.
2. The next tiebreaker is 'Tie Game Pick'. Whoever has the most winning picks on the MNF tiebreaker game wins the TiePick tiebreaker.
3. The next tiebreaker is 'Tie Game Points'.
   1. The person who most closely picks the total combined score by both teams in the tiebreaker game is ranked highest.
   2. Going over or under does not matter.
   3. For the season tiebreaker, it is the cumulative absolute difference between your predictions and the final score. For example, if you were off by 4 the first week and -4 the second week, your absolute difference would be 8 after 2 weeks.
4. If there is a tie after 'Tie Game Points', it will be considered a tie.  All cash prizes will be split evenly among tied entries.

You must provide a full name and email address in order to join the pool.  Don't worry though: 

• These will never be displayed on the site.  Only your anonymous username/alias will appear in the standings.
• 232 Office Pools will NEVER sell or distribute the contact information of our members to a third-party.
• I do send occasional emails regarding our upcoming pools.  To stop receiving these, let me know.

I reserve the right to make changes to the Rules midway through the competition in order to maintain the integrity and fairness of the pool.  This could include adding new rules, doing away with rules, and making changes to incorrect results or standings.  Changes will only be made if absolutely necessary, and we will hold a vote for any major issues, if possible.  Any changes to the picks or results will be flagged in the Standings, so you will know if any changes are made.
